First appointment with the surgeon

The specialist surgeon in charge of you will give you information about your pathology, the need for your operation and your treatment. Before setting a date for the operation, he will obtain your consent, to ensure that you have understood and jointly carried out the benefit-risk analysis required before any surgical procedure.

CONSULTATION
ANESTHESIA

If you decide to undergo surgery, you will need to make an appointment for an anaesthetic consultation, which is compulsory. The purpose of this consultation is to assess your health, explain the different types of anaesthetic available for your operation and answer any questions you may have about anaesthesia.

If you are undergoing medical treatment, the surgeon or anaesthetist will tell you what instructions to follow.

Don't forget to bring :

  • All medical information, even old information or information unrelated to your hospitalisation. Prescriptions for your usual treatments (without these prescriptions we will not be able to continue your medication).
  • Results of tests, X-rays and electrocardiograms
  • The completed anaesthesia questionnaire
  • Your blood group card
  • Your "carte vitale" and up-to-date certificate
  • A means of payment
